Medway District Council again commissioned us to investigate the faulty clock at Barclays Rainham. Upon inspection our engineers found many problems including a case that was failing apart so we advised our client that the clock was beyond economical repair. The clock was an old “Smiths English” style clock and was installed for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, so we set about manufacturing a new clock to the old “Smiths” design, using new modern materials of high grade aluminium. The movements are Grayson GGUB192T heavy-duty battery movements with 5 year lithium cores and a GPS receiver head for very accurate time and automatic summer/winter time changes. The illumination is via IP65 rated LED’s to provide an almost maintenance-free clock installation.
