THE ELECTRIC CLOCK

The electric version of our most popular style of analogue clock; the solid, secure and easy-to-read Office Clock.

Three things that make this clock a bit special:

1- The hinge at the top of the bezel. This was initially developed for the GLC (a while ago.. we know) who wanted to make sure that the clocks that went up in communal areas didn't constantly get nicked off the walls. It worked brilliantly and we sold hundreds, if not thousands, of them over the years and we carried on making them once the GLC was no longer a thing because they had become the go-to clock for numerous other customers.
The only real change over the years has been that they now have a deeper bezel to allow us to fit the chunkier mains power movements into the case. Which is why it's only the Office Clocks that can run straight off a 230v mains supply.

2- The mains synchronous motor that means you can run this clock directly form the 230v mains supply. We're fairly sure we are the only people in the UK that manufacture a mains electric wall clock. Please do let us know if you think this not to be the case..
Rather than getting their accuracy from a quartz crystal, synchronous clock movements are locked to the mains frequency. The mains frequency is extremely accurate.

3- Because of the way the movement is geared you get a sweep second hand with this clock. You don't tend to get these on battery movements which usually have the stepped or jump second hands. So instead of the tick tick of a second hand you get this lovely smooth sweep. Very nice.

The Electric Clock uses our deeper profile bezel: tapered from 250mm at the front to 265mm at the back and about 65mm deep.

The bezel fabricated from spun aluminium and powder coated white.

The clock has a 12hr dial with minute track and has a sweep second hand as standard. 24hr dial available upon request.

A high quality movement is fitted to the sturdy powder coated aluminium back plate.

Many cheap clocks are made with moulded plastic backs so once the movement fails the whole clock has to be thrown away. With our clocks all parts are replaceable; if you drop it, we can replace the bezel or the 'glass', if the movement dies then we (or indeed, you) can swap it out for a new one.

We do all repairs ourselves at our head office in Kent, we don't believe in 'disposable' clocks and that's not what we build.

..and we don’t just build battery and mains clocks!

We also specialize in clock systems. We know that sometimes what you need is for all your clocks to tell exactly the same time. All our clocks can be fitted, for example, with minute impulse movements that can be run from a master clock and controlled centrally by GPS. Some our clocks can even run off NTP / POE via your network.
